The Super Rod (すごいつりざお, Amazing Fishing Rod) is an upgrade of the Good Rod that can be used to catch stronger Pokémon. A stronger Pokémon that can be found by fishing can be reeled in with the use of the Super Rod, and in some generations, Pokémon that would not be found in the open.

How to Obtain[]

Generations I and II[]

The Super Rod can be obtained by traveling to Route 12 in Kanto and entering the lone house on the Silence Bridge (below the Route 11 entrance). The tenant inside the house is one of the Fishing Gurus that inhabit the Kanto region, and will give the player the Super Rod.

Generation III[]

In the Hoenn region, the Super Rod is given to the player if they visit the northernmost house in Mossdeep City.

In Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen (which are updated remakes of Generation I), the Super Rod can be obtained at the same location as the first generation.

Generation IV[]

In Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, along with Platinum, the Super Rod is given to the player by a fisherman in the Fight Area. It can only be obtained once the Sinnoh Pokédex is completed.

In Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, they can be obtained the same tradition as in Generation II, talking to the Route 12 Fishing Guru.

Generation V[]

In Pokémon Black and White, after defeating Ghetsis at N's Castle, Looker gives the player the Super Rod in Nuvema Town as a gift for defeating Team Plasma. In Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, Cedric Juniper will give you the Super Rod in Professor Juniper's lab in Nuvema Town.
