Scientist is a trainer class introduced in Generation I. It features a trainer with a lab coat and glasses on. They are often aligned with evil teams if discovered in their hideout. They usually use Pokémon with no gender and inorganic Pokémon. Scientists also are used as researchers, etc.

In Pokémon and White, they use Battle Items at the beginnings of their battles. They have a very similar appearance to Collectors and Super Nerds. They are not found in Hoenn and female Scientists were introduced in Generation V.
