Trivia
- Herdier is possibly based off of the dog breed, Yorkshire Terrier.
- Herdier's name probably comes from a combination of the words "hearty" and "herder" since Yorkshire Terriers may have been used for herding in the past.
- Herdier is one of a few Pokémon in Black and White that, rather than have a synthesized sound serving as its cry, it has a more realistic cry, sounding like a barking dog.
