Helioptile (Japanese: エリキテル Erikiteru) is a dual-type Electric/Normal Pokémon, introduced in the Generation VI games, Pokémon X and Y. It evolves into Heliolisk, when exposed to a Sun Stone.

Facts
- Helioptile, and it's evolution, Heliolisk, are the only Pokémon with the dual-typing of Electric/Normal.
- It is the only Pokémon that uses a Sun Stone that isn't Grass-type.
Design origins
Helioptile may be based on the spotted salamander, a lizard that has a symbiotic relationship with Oophila alga, allowing it to photosynthesize.
Etymology
Helioptile's name come from the words Helios, the ancient greek personification of the sun, heliophile, something attracted to sunlight and reptile.
