Grassy Terrain (Japanese: グラスフィールド Grass Field) is a Grass-type move introduced in the Generation VI games, Pokémon X and Y.
Game info
Effect
In battle
Grassy Terrain restores HP to all grounded Pokémon on the field by 1/6 of their total health at the end of each turn. It also increases the power of Grass-type moves by 50% if the Pokémon using it is grounded. The terrain lasts for five (5) turns.
It does not affect Flying-type Pokémon, Pokémon with the Levitate ability, Pokémon holding the item Air Balloon, or Pokémon that are affected by Telekinesis or Magnet Rise.
While in effect, some moves become Grass-type, such Nature Power becoming Energy Ball, Secret Power using the animation from Vine Whip (which also may cause Sleep), and Camouflage changes the Pokémon to Grass-type.
Grassy Terrain also activates the ability called Grass Pelt.
Outside of battle
Grassy Terrain has no affect outside of battle.
