Professor Aurea Juniper (Japanese: アララギ博士 Dr. Araragi) is the regional Pokémon professor of Pokémon Black and White and Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, situated in the Unova region. She uses a Minccino in the introduction (a Cinccino in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2). She is the Professor that sets you and your rivals on their adventures.

At the start of Pokémon Black and White, you see her enter and quickly exit a house then you see you and your friends standing in front of a green box, you open it and find three Starter Pokémon and, as in all the other games, you choose first. Your male rival Cheren chooses the Starter with the type advantage over yours, while Bianca (Game) chooses the remaining Starter. When you have chosen your Pokémon, she demonstrates the method of simple battling. She uses a Minccino to battle and she catches a Patrat, which can later be seen in her lab.

In the Anime

She has given Ash Oshawott after learning that Oshawott followed Ash up to where he is. She also gives Trip a Snivy for his starter.

Professor Juniper also is seen later, doing research at Chargestone Cave. She also trades her Karrablast to Bianca's Shelmet, both of them evolving. Professor Juniper's father is met too, and he takes Ash, Iris and Cilan to explore with him.

In the Manga

She is still set to appear. Though it is stated that she was the one who gave the Pokédex to Black, Bianca and Cheren.

Trivia

• She is the first female Professor in Pokémon DS games, while in the anime, Professor Ivy was the first shown female professor.
• Each Professor is named after a tree; Professor Juniper is named after the Juniper genus of trees.
• Professor Juniper replaces Professor Oak in taking care of Ash's additional Pokémon while he is in the Unova Region.
• Professor Juniper is the only Professor known to actually keep the Pokémon caught in the tutorial of the game. The Patrat can be found in her lab any time after she catches it.
