Archen (Japanese: アーケン Aaken) is a Generation V Rock/Flying-type Fossil Pokémon based off of an Archaeopteryx that can be revived from a Plume Fossil.

Appearance

Archen is a red, yellow, and blue feathered bird with a large beak, 3-taloned feet and a blue tail. It also has claws on its hands.

Evolution

Archen evolves into Archeops at level 37.

Trivia

• Archen is one of three fossil Pokémon that is also a bird, along with Aerodactyl and Archeops.
• Archen is also one of five fossil Pokémon that start with the letter "A", along with Anorith, Armaldo, and yet again, Aerodactyl and Archeops.
• Archen is based on Archaeopteryx, a prehistoric bird that supposedly lived in the the Late Jurassic period and the first bird animal known, since it has claws on its wings.
